SuiteCommerce 2024.2 Minor Releases: Product Reviews Toggle, Shipping/PayPal Fixes, and Checkout Corrections

SuiteCommerce 2024.2 minor releases (2024.2.10–2024.2.40) add a configurable Product Reviews checkbox on the SuiteCommerce Configuration record, fix PayPal shipping-cost zeroing, and resolve several My Account and checkout bugs including Google Tag Manager redirect failures.

Oracle rolled four minor releases (2024.2.10 through 2024.2.40) for SuiteCommerce, SuiteCommerce MyAccount, and SuiteCommerce Advanced. The most notable change is a new configuration-level toggle for product reviews; the rest are bug fixes across checkout, My Account, and pricing display.

2024.2.30 — Product Reviews Configuration

New field: Enable Product Reviews

A new checkbox, Enable Product Reviews, has been added to the SuiteCommerce Configuration record. It controls whether shoppers can view and submit product reviews on the Commerce storefront.

  • Default value: Enabled (checked). Existing stores will surface reviews without action.
  • Scope: SuiteCommerce and SuiteCommerce Advanced 2024.2 and later only.
  • Legacy path: For SuiteCommerce Advanced 2024.1 and earlier, install the Reference Review Records SuiteApp instead.

Bug fixes (2024.2.30)

  • Fixed shipping cost being set to $0 when PayPal was selected as the payment method.
  • Fixed shipping price on the Review Your Order page diverging from the Order Summary page.
  • Fixed incorrect creation of custom records for product reviews after customers updated the SuiteCommerce bundle.
  • Corrected See Help links under Public URLs to point to the correct Help Center page.

2024.2.20 — Twitter/X Label Change and GTM Fix

Enhancement

The social-share button label on product description pages changed from “Tweet” to “post” for stores with Twitter/X integrations. No configuration required.

Bug fix

Shoppers were redirected to the home page instead of the order confirmation page after clicking Place Order on stores where Google Tag Manager was configured with Google AdWords as a service. This is now resolved.

2024.2.10 — My Account and Checkout Fixes

  • Return request status: Cancelled return requests in My Account now correctly update to Cancelled status.
  • My List blank page: New customers clicking My List no longer see a blank page; they see a placeholder message.
  • FedEx tracking: Tracking links under Purchases > Purchase History now redirect to the correct FedEx page.
  • Strike-through pricing: Matrix child items no longer display a struck-through default price level when that price is empty, equal to, or lower than the online price.
  • Phone number checkout block: Customers without a phone number in their profile can now complete checkout.

2024.2.40 — Background Processing Only

This release contains internal background processing updates with no customer-facing impact.

What to do

  1. Review the Product Reviews toggle. Navigate to the SuiteCommerce Configuration record and verify the Enable Product Reviews checkbox matches your business intent. If you do not want reviews on your storefront, clear it.
  2. Legacy stores (2024.1 and earlier): If you need product review functionality, install the Reference Review Records SuiteApp from the SuiteApp Marketplace.
  3. PayPal shipping validation: If you previously implemented workarounds for the PayPal zero-shipping bug, test your checkout flow end-to-end and remove any patches.
  4. Google Tag Manager + AdWords: If you have GTM with AdWords configured, verify the post-checkout redirect lands on your order confirmation page.
  5. Matrix item pricing: If you sell matrix items, spot-check your storefront for correct strike-through pricing behavior, especially items where the default price level is empty or matches the online price.
  6. Phone number field: If you previously made the phone number required via custom scripting to work around the checkout block, that workaround is no longer necessary. Consider removing it to reduce friction.
