New Subscription Metrics SuiteApp for ARR/MRR Dashboards

Oracle introduced the Subscription Metrics SuiteApp (available from 2025.2+), providing three built-in dashboards for ARR, MRR, CARR, CMRR, churn, retention, and bookings on OneWorld accounts with Advanced Billing enabled.

The Subscription Metrics SuiteApp is a new managed bundle available from the SuiteApp Marketplace. It delivers three dashboards for monitoring recurring-revenue KPIs: annual recurring revenue (ARR), monthly recurring revenue (MRR), committed ARR (CARR), committed MRR (CMRR), churn, retention, and bookings. Dashboards support filtering, period comparison, and detail drill-down.

Prerequisites

  • NetSuite 2025.2 or higher
  • OneWorld account — single-subsidiary instances are not supported.
  • Advanced Billing feature must be enabled (Setup > Company > Enable Features > Transactions).
  • Subscription Metrics Reporting feature must be enabled (exact path not specified in source — verify in your account's Enable Features page).
  • For currency conversion: enable Multi-Currency and Currency Exchange Rate Type features.

What changed

This is a net-new SuiteApp, not a modification to an existing module. It adds:

  • A Subscription Metrics navigation tab with three dashboard views.
  • New subscription-related fields on item and service records that must be populated for the dashboards to calculate correctly. The source does not enumerate these fields — inspect the bundle's custom fields after installation or consult the linked setup guide.
  • Configurable KPI formulas and preferences (details in the SuiteApp's own documentation).
  • Role-level permissions that control dashboard access.

Note: The source documentation is light on technical specifics. It does not list the exact custom records, saved searches, or scripts deployed by the bundle, nor does it specify governance impact. Review the bundle contents post-install via Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles > List to understand exactly what objects are deployed.

What to do

  1. Verify prerequisites: Confirm your account is on 2025.2+, is OneWorld, and has Advanced Billing enabled. Enable Subscription Metrics Reporting if not already active.
  2. Install the SuiteApp: Navigate to SuiteApp Marketplace, search for Subscription Metrics, and install. Note the bundle ID for future reference.
  3. Review deployed objects: After installation, check the bundle manifest for custom records, fields, scripts, and saved searches. Evaluate any governance or scheduled-script implications for your environment.
  4. Configure permissions: Ensure the roles that need dashboard access have the required permissions assigned. The source does not list specific permission names — check the SuiteApp's documentation or inspect role assignments post-install.
  5. Populate subscription fields: Set the new subscription-related fields on your item and service records. Without these, dashboard metrics will not calculate.
  6. Set up KPI formulas: Configure KPI formula preferences if you need non-default metric calculations.
  7. Enable Multi-Currency (optional): If you report in multiple currencies, enable Multi-Currency and Currency Exchange Rate Type features, then configure exchange rate types.
  8. Test in Sandbox first: As with any managed SuiteApp, install in a Sandbox account before production to validate that deployed scripts do not conflict with existing customizations.
