SuiteAnalytics Workbook: Formula Fields Now Reusable Across Workbooks
Custom formula fields can now be defined once at the dataset level and reused across every workbook bound to that dataset — closing one of the longest-running pain points in SuiteAnalytics.
Formula fields used to live on the workbook, not the dataset. That meant the same "fully burdened cost" or "days to ship" calculation had to be re-typed (and re-debugged) in every workbook that needed it. In 2026.1, formulas promote to dataset-level definitions.
What this enables
- Single source of truth: finance can edit a formula once and every dependent workbook updates.
- Cleaner exports: dataset formulas show up in the schema for ODBC/SuiteAnalytics Connect consumers.
- Audit trail: formula edits now write to the system notes of the dataset record — useful when finance asks "who changed the GP calc last quarter."
Migration note
Existing workbook-level formulas are not auto-promoted. There is no "migrate to dataset" button — you have to recreate them at the dataset and delete the workbook copies. Plan a deliberate cleanup pass; do not let the two coexist or you will end up with subtle mismatches between dashboards.
