Ask Oracle Access Is Now Role-Gated via a Dedicated Admin Page
NetSuite Next introduces a dedicated Ask Oracle Access page that lets Administrators control which roles can use the Ask Oracle AI assistant. Access is denied by default and must be explicitly granted per role.
What changed
A new Ask Oracle Access administration page is available for accounts enrolled in NetSuite Next. This page provides role-level control over who can use the Ask Oracle AI assistant.
Key details:
- Default state: All roles are denied access. Admins must opt-in each role explicitly.
- Access restriction: Only users with the Administrator role can view or modify the Ask Oracle Access page.
- The page lists every eligible role along with: the number of assigned users, the associated bundle ID, whether the role is custom or standard, and the center type.
- A search/filter field lets you locate roles by name.
Note: NetSuite Next features are being rolled out in phases. Your account may not have access yet — Oracle sends in-app notifications when your account becomes eligible. The exact release version for this feature is not stated in the source documentation.

- Check whether your account has received the NetSuite Next in-app notification. If not, no action is required yet.
- Navigate to the Ask Oracle Access page (accessible only via Administrator role) and review the role list.
- Decide which roles should have access to the AI assistant. Enable access for each role as appropriate, keeping in mind that every enabled role exposes Ask Oracle to all users assigned that role.
- If you maintain custom roles via SDF or bundles, note the bundle ID column — it helps you identify which roles originate from installed bundles versus those defined in your account.

Caveats

If you script role provisioning or manage roles through SDF, verify manually whether Ask Oracle access state is captured in your customization objects.
